I commend you for giving Cassidy's a second shot, but I'm sorry to hear you received the same cold shoulder the second time around. Completely unacceptable - you know a new restaurant isn't going places if a knowledgeable customer gets better service at Wendy's.

Anyone else have a similar experience to Matt's at Cassidy's?

Re: J Beaner’s to be replaced with new coffee house

Out of curiosity I made a second attempt at trying Cassidy's Grill (see previous comment). We went inside, sat down in the middle of the dining area, checked the time, and then waited..and waited..and waited. We said we'd give them 15 min for some form of acknowledgement and then we would leave. It was a little comical. We sat and watched a couple of the girls and manager come into the area, look around and check on other guests repeatedly. Not once were we even looked at. I have to stress that we weren't in some hidden corner, we were in the middle of the room. I got up and looked at the sign at the entrance to make sure we didn't do something wrong or violate their seat yourself policy. I learned that we had not, went back to my table, grabbed my wife and left.

I few minutes down the road I called Cassidy's. I asked the woman who answered the phone what their seating policy was and then told her what had happened the first time we were there (previous comment) and what had just happened. She really had no response. She said she was sorry but had no explanation and made no attempt to correct the matter. In her place I would have asked "what can we do to make this right?" or "what can we do to get you to come back and give us a try?"

I really, really wanted to try this place. Unfortunately, two sad pathetic strikes and your out.

We went to Wendy's, they acknowledged our existence.

I was disappointed to see that the new owners went with waitress service. I could definitely do without it in this economy. Especially now that there is no longer help yourself coffee. After eating I just wanted to make a quick departure, not have to wait for someone to come by and take care of the bill. I had super service, I have to say.

Re: J Beaner’s to be replaced with new coffee house

I had the chicken pesto pannini today and it was fabulous. I can't say enough about it. The service was great too. I have to say, though, that I ws disappointed to see waitress service. In this economy I could do without it. When I finished my meal I just wanted to leave, not have to wait for a waitress to take care of my bill and clear the table, etc.We could use a place with great food without the waitress service in Amherst. I miss J.Beaner's coffee a lot. I had the decaf today and it wasn't great.

Re: J Beaner’s to be replaced with new coffee house

This place has absolutely the worst customer service of any restaurant in Southern New Hampshire. It's a complete shame since the menu looks so good.

We went there for breakfast this morning. My wife asked what type of quiche was available and the server told us it was a veggie. That's was great (since she doesn't eat meat), so she ordered it and I ordered the blueberry pancakes. After a long while, our food arrived. She noticed the quiche looked unusual and I tasted it and thought that there may be ham inside. We asked the server to check into this and once she returned and said that she had been mistaken and that the quiche was actually ham and cheese! It's a good thing she didn't take a bite or she could've been extremely ill.

My wife then said that she would take an order of blueberry pancakes well-done, with extra powdered sugar, and no butter. After a long time (well after I was done), the pancakes arrived underdone, with no sugar, and extra butter melting all over them. When we pointed this out, they took the pancakes back to the kitchen, removed the butter (except for the large quantity which had already melted), and sprinkled a little sugar on top. When the bill came, we were shocked that nothing was taken off for the mistakes which they had made. We mentioned that most restaurants would've compensated us for SOMETHING. Their response floored us. They said, believe it or not, that they "didn't charge us for the quiche"!!!! Unbelievable. They refused to do anything else. I've never been to a restaurant where "the customer comes last" before. The owner actually intentionally ignored us by slowly cleaning off tables instead of addressing the issue. With this type of customer service, it's amazing that they're still in business.

We highly recommend that nobody patronize this establishment.

Re: J Beaner’s to be replaced with new coffee house

Was looking forward to trying out Cassidy's. We went inside and saw the sign indicating to have a seat and one of thier friendly staff would be with us shortly to take our order. We sat down, looked and the menue and then spent the next 20 minutes wondering when one of the friendly staff would acknowledge our presense. It was only about a 3rd full, 3 or 4 women were working the dining room and outside area. One spent the whole time cleaning. We finnally decided as we watched a party of 3 walk in that if they get service before us we'd leave. They were greated the moment they sat down. We walked out.

The food smelled good, the menue looked interesting. The service sucked so bad I'll never go back to find out.

Re: J Beaner’s to be replaced with new coffee house

Burnt hambuger hard fryes was suppost woodfired but not someone needs to wake up Hello

Re: J Beaner’s to be replaced with new coffee house

Just had breakfast at Cassidy's. It is a great location, but get rid of the plastic forks and knives and paper plates ! Not eco-friendly !
Another suggestion would be for the owner/manager to go to some of the busy breakfast places in the area and see what they are doing. One slice of toast? Burned omelet? I bet not.

Re: J Beaner’s to be replaced with new coffee house

A new phone number would be nice

Re: J Beaner’s to be replaced with new coffee house

Just back from Cassidy's Grille having met Greg the chef owner and his staff. The Salmon wrap is heavenly and the sweet potato fries were great!
The coffee was spot on and now there is not only wifi and a robust beer selection as well as the ambiance that we were expecting. The digs are familiar with all items made fresh daily.
